1. What is the eligibility criterion for ICD-10 Training?

Comprehensive ICD-10 Training is meant for Certified Coders (CPC, CCS, CCA, CCS-P) and Medical Billers, AR Callers with one year live work experience or verifiable two years experience from your employer, if not certified.

2. Does training include ICD-10 material?

Yes, training includes Training material Softcopies and Online ICD10MadeEasy Analytics Software.

3. Does package include Certification exam?

Yes, package includes ICD-10 Coder Certification exam too.

4. When and where ICD-10 Certification will be exam conducted? What is pattern of the exam?

ICD-10 Certification exam is a proctored exam. You will have two options to take ICD-10 Exam. Once you complete the three-day Comprehensive ICD-10 Training, you can take ICD-10 Certification Exam

Option-1: ICD-10 Certification Exam- you should take exam within one month after training (Exam fees included)

Exam Location (Paper Based): Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Noida, Jaipur, Pondicherry, Mysore, Chandigarh, Pune, Nagpur, Ahemedabad.

Example **If you take training in Delhi, then you need to take ICD-10 Certification Exam in Delhi.

Option-2: ICD-10 Certification Exam - You have to appear for the paper-based exam within 60 days after training; failing which you need to take a proctored online exam at any of the below mentioned Testing Centers at additional fees of $129. You would need to buy original ICD-10 coding manuals for this proctored online exam. Photocopies are not allowed.

5. Is this certification recognized by AAPC or AHIMA?

ICD-10 Coders Academy is a private organization offering ICD-10 Certification. Certification is a voluntary process. Not recognized by AAPC or AHIMA. Medesun or ICD-10 Coders Academy DOES NOT offer job guarantee based on Training and/or Certification.

The purpose of ICD-10 Coder Certification is to promote ethical and professional ICD-10 Implementation through certification of qualified individuals by formally recognizing proficiency demonstrated by having passed the proctored exam, encouraging continued professional and personal best development and providing a national standard assessment based on industry knowledge. Certification demonstrates to physicians, employers and others that you have taken proactive steps to advance your education, knowledge and skills.

Our Test Centers are monitored by Kryterion Certified Proctors (KCPs), who are trained to monitor testing sessions with the highest level of attention to detail, a multi-step authentication and validation process, and equipped with professional testing rooms and designated sign-in areas.

6. Do I need to buy the ICD-10 Manuals?

Medesun will provide the ICD-10 Coding Manuals in the form of PDF. For the exam, you need to use books. Medesun will provide books free of cost for the exam session only.

7. When results will be published?

Results will be published within two to three weeks of the exam. Information about results will not be given over phone. All successful certified candidates will be listed in the ICD-10 Coders Academy website.

8. How many years certification valid? How to renew?

Certification is valid for one year. When you successfully pass a certification exam, you're considered certified. To maintain the certification over subsequent years, you have to study for and take interim exams annually that test your knowledge of ICD-10 code updates. You'll be notified when these tests become available.
